  Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building

Project Description: Lighting Upgrade. This project exchanged all the metal halide lamps in the Fairgrounds exhibit building with florescent fixtures. The lights were also installed with dimmers; daylight harvesting was used around the interior perimeter of the building.
Estimated Energy Savings: $5,969 annually (equivalent to less than a 5-year payback).
Actual Energy Savings Achieved: Actual direct reduction in electrical usage in the eight months since the project has been completed is better than projected, with savings so far of 100,000+ kwh (kilowatt hours), or about $5,580.
Cost Savings: Based on actual savings observed, annual savings are estimated at $8,000 (equivalent to a less than 4-year payback).
