ClimateSmart Loan Program

The ClimateSmart Loan Program™ provides a voluntary mechanism for commercial and residential property owners to obtain financing (loans tied to property taxes) for renewable energy and/or energy efficiency improvements to properties in Boulder County. The program originated from ballot measure 1A in November 2008, when voters gave Boulder County the authority to issue up to a maximum of $40 million in special assessment bonds to finance the program.

In spring 2009 Boulder County launched a successful first round of the nationally groundbreaking ClimateSmart Loan Program, funding 394 energy efficiency and renewable energy projects throughout Boulder County totaling $6.6 million. This program involves a review and tune-up of your heating and cooling system that can be a very effective and fast way to increase the energy performance of your building. You will save money and increase the workplace comfort of your employees through more consistent airflow and temperature.
